My Weekend in Guthrie

Hello Blogger Friends!

A few weekends ago my sweetie took me to Guthrie for a fun weekend getaway. We stayed the night in our favorite Bed and Breakfast - The Redstone Country Inn Bed and Breakfast. The building was many different things over the years, including a brothel during the "wild west" days in Oklahoma.
The is Jose and Perla. They are the innkeepers and they are the sweetest people you will ever meet. James and I are on a vegetarian diet and Perla made us a special breakfast to accommodate our needs. They always go above and beyond for us each time we stay. They are truly delightful people. If you ever get the chance to come to Oklahoma, you have to stay at the Redstone!!!

Our beautiful room had a big jacuzzi bathtub in it (that I never got in except here with my clothes on). I wish we would have had more time to enjoy everything!

Here is James all dressed up to take me to dinner at a wonderful Italian restaurant that we had heard so many good things about called "Roma's". The owners of the restaurant are from Italy and the food was absolutely outstanding!!! I had fettuccine with vegetables and marinara sauce. It was delicious! Perla told us to have the tiramasu but we didn't have room after dinner!

Here I am in my lovely black dress ready for a fun night on the town with my sweetie pie!

Perla took a picture of us together before we went to eat. There are two wedding chapels at the Redstone as well. Perla had them decorated for Valentine's Day and she said she had many weddings this past month. I am glad they are doing good business.

After dinner James took me to Rick's Fine Chocolates and Coffee to get something sweet and a cup of tea. We sat by the front window and shared our sweets. The whole night was such a wonderful one and it feels so good to be loved the way he loves me. I am so blessed to have James in my life. He is a wonderful, kind, loving man. He reminds me a lot of my Grandpa Jake that passed away several years ago. He is so kind and loving and would do anything for anyone if they needed help. He is a great father to his kids, he is a kind and compassionate friend to me, he is a hard worker and a dedicated volunteer with the sheriff's department, and he loves me so well. I know that he truly loves me and that is such a great feeling!

After we had our sweets we went to the Pollard Theater to catch a play. It was "The Nerd" and it was very entertaining. The cast was very good and I enjoyed the show and my time with James. The next morning we went in to Oklahoma City and James took me to my favorite candy store, then we went to the Oklahoma Art Museum. The have a great restaurant there and we shared a fantastic lunch, then we went through the museum.
This is a picture of a glass art creation done by the famous glass artist Dale Chihuly - who can only see out of one eye!!! The piece is in the foyer of the museum and it is at least 50 feet tall. It is stunning in person. It really takes your breath away!
It is so amazing to think about how on earth he got all of that glass to stay in one place. I wonder how many pieces got broken before he was done?

There were a lot of really beautiful and interesting pieces of art displayed at the museum, but my favorite was the glass art displays. James is standing in a tunnel and the ceiling is completely filled with hundreds of pieces of glass art. It is truly amazing to see!

James and I had a great weekend filled with many memories we will not soon forget. We are planning another fun weekend together soon so hopefully I will have pictures to share.

Thank you for taking the time to read my post. I would love your comments and feedback so please leave me some!
Blessings to you!

My Valentine Kitchen

Hello Blogger Friends!
Here are some great pictures of my sweet Valentine kitchen. It has been a joy to cook and entertain in this kitchen this season. It is so pretty and I love being at home!
There are full view of each side of the kitchen. I love my sweet pink Valentine tree.

Here is the dining area. It is ready for the season of love!

Isn't the table scape so pretty with the pink tree in the background?

I love how the dining area turned out this time. It is so sweet and romantic.

The table scape in the morning sunlight is even prettier. I love how my kitchen glows in the morning sunlight. The candle in the middle of the table smells like roses!

Here is the china hutch decorated for Valentine's Day.

I moved all of my Rose Point china over to the big hutch and added some Valentine's decorations. I think it turned out really pretty.

Here is the smaller china cabinet all decorated up. I put my collection of Valentine Cherished Teddies in it and added a few more decorations. It is just so sweet!

Here is a delicate Homer Laughlin teacup with some Valentine Teddies. So sweet!!!

Here is another close-up of another shelf in the small china hutch. There is a mirror on the back of this hutch - you are not seeing double!

I had so much fun decorating for Valentine's Day this year and I really enjoyed the decorations every day. The house is just so sweet, feminine, and pretty. It is hard to leave my sweet Valentine cottage but quite a joy to return home to.

Isn't the cherub print over the fireplace just heavenly?

I hate how ugly my TV is! I need to invest in a cabinet!

Here is my shelf above the TV decorated with roses and hearts for Valentine's Day.

I think the fireplace mantle turned out so pretty. I put the rose arrangement together myself and I think it is just lovely!

Each table has it's own pretty vignette for Valentine's Day. It all turned out so pretty!

These are some heart sachets I made from felt fabric and embellishments. They turned out so sweet and they were so fun and easy to make!

These sachets I made are in an antique cherub dish on my dresser. Aren't they just darling?

Valentine Bedroom and Bath

Hello Blogger Friends!
I just wanted to show you my pretty Valentine's decorations in my bedroom and bathroom. Everything is very "Valentiney" and so sweet and feminine right now. It is hard to go to work every day and leave it behind!
I just love this pretty pink and white chenille bedspread. I bought it at an antique store years ago and have really enjoyed it. Recently I let Mr.Stoops lay on my bed and he decided to tear the bedspread up into shreds so now I will be making pillows out of it! I can't bare to throw it away and it can't be fixed. I will repurpose it!
I just love this sweet vignette on this shelf in my bedroom. I have had that print of that sweet girl with the roses for many years and get so much enjoyment from her. I painted the frame a shade of ivory to match the decor in the room. So pretty!

There is my Valentine tree in the corner. I am so proud of how it turned out. I can't believe I made almost all of the ornaments.

Here are some pictures of the bathroom, too. This room is always ready for Valentine decorations because the walls are PINK!!!

The cherub on the back of the toilet is so beautiful. It is a garden statue but I have never put it outside. I want it to stay nice and clean!

I just love this sweet "love" vignette. It is so sweet and feminine!

There are roses and hearts everywhere you turn!

I bought that dress form at a craft store and she used to be black and white. I recovered her with pink and ivory to match my decor. I made that sweet felt heart on the shelf too. They match so perfectly!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my pretty Valentine bedroom and bathroom. I hope you liked what you saw and you will leave me a comment!
Blessings to you!

White Valentine Tree

Hello Blogger Friends!

After Christmas came and went I didn't have the heart to take down my pretty white tree in my bedroom so I left it up and made a bunch of beautiful decorations for it. Here are some close-up pictures of some of the decorations I made and of the whole tree after I got it decorated.
This is my favorite ornament I made. It is a chipboard frame that I painted pink and glittered. Then I glued a Victorian Valentine image then I finished it off with embellishments and scrapbook paper on the back. I made a series of these ornaments - 3 each of white, baby pink, hot pink, and red.

Here is another series of heart ornaments I made from scrapbook paper and embellishments. They turned out so pretty!

I love the glitter trim on this heart. It really makes it sparkle!!!

I also cut out cherbs from glittery scrapbook paper and embellished them. I just love how they turned out!

I also make X's and O's for this tree from scrapbook paper, chipboard, and embellishments. We can never have enought hugs and kisses!

Here is one of the many tussie mussie's I made. I want to fill them with Valentine treats next year.

A few more chipboard-framed Valentines. So sweet!

I just love how all of my ornaments turned out! The great thing is I have them all ready for next year so decorating will be so easy!!!

I REALLY love my sweet Valentine tree and I am proud of myself that I made almost all of the ornaments on it! Isn't it pretty?

I hope you have enjoyed seeing my pretty Valentine tree. Please let me know what you think!

Blessings to you!
