Cherry Truffle Squares Recipe

Hello Friends!

I wanted to share a scruptious recipe I made that was so delicious for Valentine's Day. If you like cherried and chocolate you are going to love these delicious cookie bars!
Crust: 1 (18-oz.) roll Pillsbury refigerated cookie dough
Filling: 1/3 c semisweet chocolate chips
1/4 c butter
1/4 c unsweetened cocoa
3 tbsp light corn syrup
1 tbsp milk
2 c powdered sugar
1 (10-oz.) jar maraschino cherried, drained and chopped
Topping: 1 c white chocolate chips, melted
2 tbsp shortning
Directions:
Heat over to 350 degrees. cut cookie dough in to four sections and press dough in to the bottom of an ungreased 13x9 inch pan to form the crust. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 16 minutes. DO NOT OVERBAKE. It is much better when the cookie crust is softer. cool 45 minutes or until completely cooled.
in meduium microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate chips and butter. Microwave on high for 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until melted and smooth. Add cocoa, corn syrup, and milk; blend well. Press mixture over cooled crust. Top with chopped cherries, gently pressing into the filling.
In a small microwave-safe bowl, combine vanilla chips and shortening. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir; continu microwaving, stirring every 10 seconds until chips are melted and smooth.
Spoon melted white chocolate over filling and spread - (I drizzled mine because it was prettier)
Refrigerate 20 minutes or until set. Cut into squares or diamond-shape pieces. Garnish with a chocolate curl or a cherry if desired!
There you have it! I hope you enjoy this fantastic recipe. I would love to have your comments so please leave them for me!
Blessings to you!
Love Tammy
