Happy Pink and Green Saturday!

Hello My Sweet Blog Friends!

I appreciate all of you that have been leaving your sweet comments for me. I have been a bit discouraged lately because I haven't had very many comments and it seems like nobody is really looking anymore. It makes me question why I am even blogging anymore? But I do enjoy it when I have the time and I really love to hear from those of you that are leaving your comments, so thank you so much for your encouragement lately. You all are truly sweet friends and I am so thankful for your friendship.

I want to thank Beverly at http://www.howsweettheshound.typepad.com/ for hosting another great Pink Saturday for us again. I was so pleased to hear that she was enouraging us to show pink and green this weekend. I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but I try to decorate and celebrate every single thing I can since I absolutely love my life . . . so I had to bring out my St. Patrick's Day decorations and put them around the house. The picture above is a shelf in my dining room decorated with one of two sweet ceramic shamrocks I purchased plus ivory roses for a feminine touch.

This is a shelf in my small curio cabinet. The whole cabinet is decorated for St. Pat's Day and it is really sweet. As soon as I master the art of taking a picture of it without appearing in the photo (because of the mirrors on the back of the hutch) I will show you the whole thing.

This is my beautiful, amazing Shamrock Plant I purchased last year at a grocery store. It was a tiny thing and it cost me $3.oo. It has really taken off and it blooms all the time. I am just so proud of how healthy, happy, and beautiful it is right now. Maybe I have a green thumb like my mom and grandma after all?

The remainder of the pictures for this post are of things I have around that house that are either pink, green, or a combination of the two . . . and they are my favorite things. I hope you enjoy my favorites too. The picture above is my favorite shelf I have hanging in my home at the moment. It is in my bathroom and the bird house on top plugs in and lights up. Isn't it sweet? I'm going to spruce it up a bit soon because it seems rather plain, but I just love it and the birds sitting next to it on the shelf. So tweet.

This is my favorite basket. I painted it pink and filled it with pink and green washcloths and tied a fabric strip around it. There is some pink lotion (that is my favorite) and a pretty jar of green bath salts here too.

This is my favorite sugar bowl. I bought it at an antique store in Guthrie, OK. It is so feminine and delicate. I usually put wrapped candy in it instead of sugar because it has a lid and Mr. Stoops can't get in it and eat all the candy. He is known to eat an entire bowl of candy every now and then if he can reach it.

This is one of favorite teacups but it's for decorative use only. I just love how pretty it is and it is perfect for pink and green Saturday.

This is my favorite floral arrangement. I put it together last spring and usually I take things apart to reuse the pieces after I have decorated with them and it's time for something new, but this arrangement has stayed just the way I put her together last year. I just can't bare to take her apart. Such pretty pinks and greens.

Ok, now this is by far my favorite teacup . . . and she is useable. It is Limoges and made in France. I have two of them so when I want to have a special tea for two I bring them out. I don't think I have ever seen a prettier teacup in my life. What about you?

This is my favorite cake plate. Although it is hanging on my wall in my bedroom and not serving any cakes it is still serving a useful purpose . . . making me happy every morning when I wake up and see her hanging there, reminding me that life is sweet and beautiful!

Ok ladies, if you love your house to smell sweet and fruity or maybe fresh and floral all the time but you hate hastling with candles (I can't believe I just said that knowing what a candleoholic I am) I have the perfect solution for you. You have to get a Scentsy warmer. All you do is plug it in, put the wax chips in, turn it on and your whole house will smell divine in no time. When you are done just turn it off. There is no fire - so no soot, no pet or child knocking it over to start a fire in your home. There is no mess, just pure happiness and sweet smells all the time. When you want to change your fragrance just pour the melted wax back in to the original container to use another time. So it's economical too. Oh, how I love my Scenty and I have one in each room of the house. I still decorate with candles but I use my Scentsy a lot more than candles. You HAVE to get one. Go online to find a dealer near you.

This is a suitcase I decorated several years ago. It is pretty pinks and greens now but it used to be an ugly blue. I am so proud of how pretty it turned out.

I used a lot of wedding embellishments to give it some extra feminine details. I just love it and I use it to store all of my Victorian images for each season that I use to decorate with.

This is a (not very good) picture of my favorite sheets. They are green and they are detailed with Italian lace. I went sheet shopping not too long ago and just had to have these. There is nothing like having a nice set of sheets that feel good to sleep on at night. And as an added bonus that are absolutely beautiful too.

Here is a better picture of the lace detail. Isn't that just gorgeous! Sheets are great for crafting, sewing, and decorating too. It seems hard to find good fabric to use in my area so I just use sheets for most everything now. But you will never see a pair of scissors anywhere near these beautiful sheets any time soon.

I hope you enjoyed my pinks and greens. Please let me know you stopped by. It's always nice to get a word of encouragement and I need that right now . . . I know we all do.

Blessings to You and Happy Pink Saturday

Love Tammy

Your bedding is so pretty and feminine. You have a very sweet home for a young woman when most have more modern tastes :-) Blessings, Pamela

  4. Oh Tammy, I am your newest follower!! I would love for you to do the same if you find my blog something you would love to read. Please do not be discouraged my friend. There are so many reasons that people don't leave comments, but your blog is not one of them. You have a lovely post this week and I look forward to seeing so much more. I too have a Shammrock plant, but mine is not blooming right now. Would you believe they also come with pink blooms. I have seen pictures of those, but I have only had the white ones.
Your sheets are gorgeous and ooh la la, that lace!!! wow
Love your St Patty's decor, it's so sweet and brings in the green with the best of them!!
    Happy Pink Saturday Tammy, Char

  7. Hi Tammy,
I'm going to follow you so that means you can't stop blogging or else you will make me cry..lol!

The suitcase, the cup...oh everything is just so lovely. You must be my long lost little sister because we have the same taste in decor. My favorite was your sweet little Shamrock plant. I envy anyone who can keep a plant alive for that long. I have the notorious black thumb!

And Tammy, don't feel discouraged about lack of comments. Remember, blog for yourself and not for anyone else.

I'm adding you to my favorite's list! Drop by my blog and enter my Jelly Bean Count Contest!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  9. Oh Tammy, I love that beautiful shelf with the birdhouse. The birdhouse is so unique and that shelf is gorgeous! I also love that lovely, delicate lace on the pillows. You made a great find. Your home is such a great expression of femininity. I'd love to visit in your home. Tammy, I know that we all get discouraged at times, especially when no one is stopping by, but don't give up. With everyone working, it is easy to just read and not comment at times, like it was for me this past week with my den being flooded. I read several, but didn't take the time to comment, for I have to admit, that I was down in the dumps with all that was going on. Just remember that we all go through those periods of time in our lives. Hang in there, girl!!!

  11. Ah Tammy your blog is beautiful. Please do not get discouraged. I find blogging ebbs and flows from week to week but as long as what I post is from my heart I am happy to be part of a wonderful group of bloggers who inspire me and make me smile with their own posts. So hang in there. That having been said, all your favorite things are delightful and beautiful. My favorites: your lace edged sheets, your floral arrangement, the bathroom birdhouse, little birdies and the elegant shelf it is on with the white roses, also the Limoges tea cup. Such delight beauty and the little eggs inside match the deliciate beauty perfectly. Blessings on your week.

  13. Tammy,
You know that I have been a follower since you started your blog!
Don't get discouraged but the one thing that I have found is that the more I comment on other blogs, the more comments I get on my posts. Many times I am just too busy to comment on all the blogs I follow but that is when I find that I have the least comments on mine.
Now on to your totally fantastic Pink Saturday post!
OMG!! What beautiful things you have shown us today!
But my very fave is that darling suitcase!! What a fantastic piece!!

    Have a wonderful weekend!!

    HPS!!

    Hugs,
    Debbie

  15. Hi Tammy:
You have shared gorgeous pinks today. My favorites are the tea cups and sheets. I was going to say don't be discouraged and I was going to give you the same advise as Debbie Dabble...the more blogs you visit and post on, the more followers and comments you will receive. People get to know you that way. Also join up on blog parties (besides the wonderful Pink Saturday) to get more followers. But I think the best way is to get yourself out there and comment/visit more. Your blog is lovely and your home is BEAUTIFUL. Too pretty not to share :)

  22. Tammy you have a wonderful post. I just happened to find you tonight and love your beautiful things. I an new to blogging and finding it difficult to figure out a lot of the different things everyone is doing.

I must say the teacups and saucers and sheets are georgeous. The plate you have behind the sugar bowl is almost identical to one I have that my grandmother gave me a few years before she passed away back in the early 90'as at the age of 96. I had to go look to see if it was the same one it is so close.

Love the shamrock plant. I used to have a lot of them in one of my gardens but for some reason they finally expired. I am going to have to get me another one though I have to say this year thus far I have not seen any in our local stores.

I am going to be following your blog. I just no I will love it.

Hope you have a wonderful week.
