I want to thank all of you sweet ladies for all of your congratulations and well wishes on my recent engagement. James and I are very happy and very excited. The initial plan was to marry this September but after thinking about things we have much to do before we will be ready to get married so we have postponed the wedding. James has two little girls we must think about and he lives in another town which means he will have to find a job in my town and sell his house. We are hoping to get these things taken care of and save some money before we tie the knot. No matter how long it takes it is worth it to put in the time and effort to plan things out and do them the right way because we love one another so much and we know our love will withstand any amount of time.
I hope you don't mind if I share some purple for Pink Saturday. I have a dear friend named Gina Jones and she has been my dental hygenist and my friend for 10 years. I recently found out (at my last dental checkup) that Gina moved to Houston to be near her family and MD Anderson because she has been diagnosed with sarcoma. I am feeling a lot of sadness for her and her family. She just recently got married and had her first beautiful baby girl named Mallory. Now she is sick and she is struggling. The dental office has a box they ship to her each week or so and if patients want to bring cards and gifts in they will mail it to her. I made this tag that Gina can use as a bookmark to reminder her that she can get through these tough times.
I made this sweet match box and covered it with music paper. I added lace and ribbon and flowers to the top.
I added a picture of a pretty fairy to the top and put glitter on her wings.
Then I filled the match box with inspirational items that I thought might make her smile.

I hope Gina enjoys her lovely match box filled with treasures. I know it won't make things better but maybe it will warm her heart to know that someone back in Oklahoma is thinking about her and praying for her. I hope you will also pray that God will heal Gina's body and take the cancer away so she can be there to watch baby Mallory grow up in to a beautiful young lady.
I want to thank Beverly for hosting us again for another Pink Saturday celebration. Thank you to all of you sweet ladies for your support and friendship. I hope you all have a great weekend and enjoy the other pink posts.
Blessings to you!
Love Tammy
Sorry to hear about the illness of your friend. I am sure she will be delighted you thought of her in this nice way. When there are children involved, you definitely need more time on working things out. Wishing you good luck.

Tammy,
ReplyDeleteI think it is a good idea to go slowly and take care of the things that both of you need to do before the wedding.

Happy Pink Saturday Tammy Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteGood comes to those who wait, and God knows when the time is right, and he will see that everything falls into place just as planned. Sorry to hear that you didn't get to go to the B&B in OKC, but sweetie, maybe that would be a wonderful place to honeymoon.
I am so sorry to hear about your friend Gina. I will be adding her to my list of prayers sweetie. Your delightful box of love will so touch her heart. It is so gorgeous. She will scream with delight when she sees it. You did a beautiful job. Just beautiful. The tag is so detailed, love the little dragonfly that hangs, anyone would love to receive such a gorgeous gift. How fun that you added it inside of a matchbox.
Thank you for sharing sweet friend. Have a beautiful Pink Saturday and please keep us posted as things move forward for you and James.
Country hugs, Sherry
Congrats to you and James! Praying for Gina. You are a beautiful and talented lady Tammy. I love that tag and the matchbox. SO simple yet filled with such love and hope and care. HPS to you and thanks for sharing. Anne
ReplyDeleteBIG congratulations on the engagement, and also the lovely tag and box. Simply stunning! How sensible to wait just a little more - you both have enough on your plates without the stress of a wedding to plan - plus, you can wallow in your 'engaged-ness' (is that a word?) and flash your ring around for a bit longer. So it's a win/win, definitely.
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday and a hug from the UK!
Happy Pink Saturday

Such sweet and thoughtful gifts for your friend who is going through difficult times at the moment. The folks at the dental office are doing a wonderful thing by sending her a bit of TLC through the mail each week. Congrats on your engagement -- nice and slow is always the best way to go. Enjoy the journey! Best wishes and blessings, Tammy
