Happy Pink Saturday!

Happy Pink Saturday Friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter! James, Maggie, Lucie, and I got to spend the day together and it was a wonderful day! My favorite part of the day was the church service that morning because it was so special and beautiful and uplifting. We went to my mom's for lunch (and dinner) and had a nice time visiting with family and hiding eggs for the girls. I hope you all enjoyed your time together as well! I wanted to share the amazing match box that Marti at Artful Curiosities sent me recently. We participated in a match box swap sponsored by Laura Ingalls Gunn and she was my partner. I wanted you to see how beautiful her creation was and how generous she was in filling it for me.

I was so excited when I got the box and began to unwrap it. I tried my best to be patient but I will filled with anticipation and excitement.

Beneath the brown packing material lay this beautiful, amazing creation!

It was filled to the brim with the most delicate, lovely, sweet items . . .

and I can't wait until I have the time to play with every single one of them!

Marti really outdid herself and I am so thankful for her generosity and her amazing creative ability.

My sweet mama's birthday was on Wednesday and I made her a sweet tin box filled with some pretty egg ornaments I painted. I bought the tin at a garage sale for 10 cents! I have 3 more to decorate and can't wait to get started!

I covered the box with scrapbook paper, trim, and flower embellishments. Isn't it lovely?I filled the box with pink basket filler and 6 sweet eggs I painted. I hope she enjoys this sweet gift. I had a lot of fun making it just for her.

I hope you all enjoy this lovely Pink Saturday and the rest of your weekend! Thanks to Beverly for hosting another great event. It is so much fun to see so many beautiful, amazing, talented women out there! Thank you for visiting here today. Please leave me a comment if you have the time!

Blessings to you!

Happy Pink Easter!

Happy Easter and Happy Pink Saturday my friends!

I had an Easter Tea Party last weekend with my mom and grandma and I wanted to share some of the pictures with you! I also wanted to share some of the last Easter pretties I have created for this season. I hope you enjoy them and are inspired to create your own!
The tea table was set in pastels. I wanted to decorate in roses with Easter this year so I combined them and I am pleased with the results!

We had some delicious food! I made tuna salad sandwiches on croissants, cucumber sandwiches, deviled eggs, and sweet PINK Easter bunny cookies. We had strawberry lemonade and French Caramel Creme Brulee tea for dessert!

My sweet mom, Ginger, made these fabulous scones. They had chocolate chips, pecans, and toffee bits in them. They were scrumptious!

I am so blessed to have such a sweet, loving, creative mom and I love her to pieces!

I am also very thankful to have a sweet grandma. I am so blessed to have her in my life!

My mom made me this sweet Easter cone from scrapbook paper and embellishments. She filled it with sweet treats and it is so beautiful! I really love it and it was very thoughtful of her to make it and give it to me!

Here is a picture of the Easter baskets I made my mom and grandma. I made them from scrapbook paper so they would coordinate with the tablecloth! I filled them with all kinds of Easter surprises . . . some I made and some I bought. We had a wonderful time at our Easter Tea Party. I wish you could have been there! I hope you will have your own sweet time for Easter with your loved ones. It is so much worth the time and effort it takes to plan it!

I wanted to show you a few more Easter pretties before we move on to the next season! I have been busy crafting away! Below is a picture of my "candy bar" that I put together for Easter. I couldn't resist since there are so many pretty pastel candies out there. Didn't it turn out so sweet!!! I made the treats on the cake stand from clay! Here is my set of jars I made for all of my sweet pastel sprinkles. I think they are just darling! I am going to use the sprinkles on some Easter cookies that I will make some time today to take to my mom's for Easter dinner.

I made my boyfriend's mom a basket for Easter and filled it with sweet treats and pretties.

I covered a metal bucket with fabric and embellishments, then I covered the handle with pink, purple, and pearl beads. Isn't it lovely?

This is "Scrappy Bunny" and he lives on my dresser in my bedroom. I thought he needed a makeover, so . . .

I painted him a soft shade of pink. Then he got an ivory basket, some pastel and glittery eggs, and some lovely ribbon and flowers for his neck. Much better!!!

Here is another bunny I gave a makeover. When I started she was blue with yellow polka dots and had a green bow glued on her neck. I would say she has vastly improved, don't you think?

I set up a pink Easter tree on my dresser and she needed some ornaments, so I bought some small paper mache eggs and painted them white . . .

Then I painted them a sweet peachy pink, painted roses on them, added sugar glitter, pink bows, and hangers. I think they are absolutely gorgeous!!! Here are some carrots I bought several years ago that were bright orange and green. I coated them with pastel paints and gave them pink ribbon hangers and glitter. They are hanging on my tree on my dresser too!

I made this egg from felt. I just cut the egg shape from white felt fabric, sewed it together, stuffed it with fluff, added ribbon, fabric scraps, flowers, and leaves. I think it turned out so pretty!

There are some carrots I bought several years ago and they were bright orange and had ugly green leaves protruding from the top of them. I painted them peachy pink, painted some roses on them, added some green ribbon for stems, and a pink bow for the final touch. I absolutely LOVE these sweet pink carrots!

I know this post was kind of long. I hope you endured the entire thing and enjoyed what you saw. I hope I have inspired you in some way today like so many of you inspire me. I want to thank Beverly for hosting another wonderful PINK Saturday and I wish each of you a blessed Easter holiday season!

Blessings to you!

Easter Pretties - Part 2

Hello Friends and Happy Pink Saturday! I have a TON of really sweet Easter pretties to show you but I am super busy right now so I am just giving you five projects I have been working on. I hope you will visit again to see more because I've got more, let me tell you!!! I bought this cute little bunny half price at Hobby Lobby and gave her a shabby makeover. As soon as I get better at painting roses she will get some on her hip, but look how sweet she is now?
This is a paper mache egg I ordered from a catalog and decided that it was just too plain. So after some embellishment . . .
she is looking much better! Oh, how springy and sweet it turned out!
This little lady and her friend below got a makeover too! I had an embellishment party last weekend and many things got made over. I love adding my own personal touch to things. I think they look so much sweeter!

These eggs were covered in paper mache but it had to come off and this is what the eggs looked like before . . .
I added some beautiful fabric, trim, ribbon, and spring flowers. Now they are perfect and match my sweet velveteen rabbits!
Like I said before I have a bunch more pretty Easter surprises waiting for you so please come back and take a look! I have been very busy with Easter pretties! I am having an Easter tea party this Saturday and I will have photos of all the pretties from our fun time posted soon!

I want to thank Beverly at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com for hosting another Pink Saturday. I also want to thank Laura at www.decortoadore.blogspot.com for hosting a Spring Craft Linky Party this weekend. Please visit both of these sites to check out all of the beautiful blogs that are out there. We sure have some talented friends!

Easter Pretties - Part 1

Happy Pink Saturday! I want to thank Beverly for hosting another Pink Saturday for all of us pink lovin' ladies! Please visit her blog at www.howsweetthesound.typepad.com and check out all the other Pink Saturday posts! I took the blue and green spring bird decorations down and packed them away. Although they were pretty and still soft and pastel, I was so excited to bring some PINK back in to my life! I have several sweet Easter pinks to show you but first I wanted to share that wonderful Coconut Bird Nest recipe with you that I made for my spring tea! You take 2 egg whites and 2 1/4 cups of coconut and mix them together in a bowl. Measure the mixture out by tablespoons full (I used a 1/4 cup measuring cup because I found that easier for me) and form into nests. Place them on a baking sheet and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 16-20 minutes. Let the nests cool completely and place candy eggs in the center. The recipe only makes about 5 or 6 nests so if you are feeding a crowd you may want to double or triple the recipe. I hope you enjoy them!
So I have been working hard to decorate for Easter and I decided to use a TON of pink this year. Things are sure looking pretty in my little cottage and I can't wait to share everything with you! Above you will see Miss Molly in a beautiful dress that was given to me by a sweet lady at my church that knows I love Victorian, frilly, pink things. She wanted me to have it because she knew I would love it. She is right!
Here are some Easter egg pillows I made last year from felt and embellishments. The pink one is my favorite!
Rebecca, www.rebecca-gatheryeroses.blogspot.com, painted this beautiful rabbit and I bought it when she had an antique booth in Oklahoma City. I sure miss that place! I made that sweet bucket next to the bunny. It was just a plain old metal bucket and with some love . . .
it turned out to be one of the sweetest Easter decorations I have. It is much prettier in person!
This fellow here is Chester. I bought him at Cracker Barrel one day and James and I named him Chester. I tied some PINK ribbon around his neck. It matches his fluffy tail that you can't see. It is totally pink! I think he is so cute!
Isn't this rose detail lovely? I added it to my sweet pink bird house yesterday to dress it up a bit!
Now I have to get better at painting roses and I will paint some on her and she will be perfect!

This is a plain pink jar I bought and added all the pretty ribbon, roses, and other embellishments to decorate it up. Aren't the bunnies so cute! I can't help but smile and laugh when I see them!

Here is a sweet Easter egg I made from felt and embellishments a few years ago. I think I will make some more of those to place around for Easter this year! They sure are sweet!
This is a small wreath I made last year to tie on the back of each one of my kitchen chairs. I love the sweet pastel colors. I hand-painted and speckled each one of the eggs. James helped me dismantle them because they are getting a makeover. They don't really match with the decor in the kitchen this year and I want them to be more PINK. I can't wait to show you the transformation!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and a Happy Pink Saturday! Please leave me a comment so I know you were here and I will visit your blog in return!

Blessings to you!
