A Wonderful Day

Hello Friends!

The wedding day came and went quickly and it was such a wonderful day!  When I woke up that morning I had a serious case of the butterflies.  My hair stylist Rhonda came over and did my hair and makeup.  She did a great job and I felt a little better after she was done.

As the day went on I got more and more nervous.  I think it was just because I had been planning this thing for almost a year and now it was happening!
My mom came over soon after Rhonda was done with my hair.  I really needed her to calm me down.  I was such a nervous wreck!  She helped me get dressed so we could take some pretty pictures at my beautiful little house before going to the church.
I absolutely LOVED my shoes and I hope I get to wear them again.  They are a sweet "Vera Wang Pink" and they matched perfectly with the pretty pink flowers I sewed on my dress.  I glued rhinestone buttons on them to dress them up.  They were just perfect!
I sewed the date in blue embroidery thread inside my dress to give me "something blue".
Here I am all dressed up.  The only thing that is missing is the veil and my beautiful bouquet.  Those pictures are coming soon!
Here is my best friend Dena.  She was my maid of honor and she helped calm me down that day too.  She didn't have her bridesmaid's dress on yet because it was still at the taylors!  We really cut that one close!
Her is my sweet mama.  Doesn't she look beautiful!  I absolutely love her beautiful dress.  I don't think I could have made it without her that day.  I was such a mess and she helped calm me down!
I love this picture and plan to print it out and frame it.  I love my mom so much and I don't know what I would do without her.  I am so blessed to still have her in my life.  She is the best!
Here are Maggie and Lucie, James' daughters and now my step-daughters.  They were very excited about the wedding and they were helpful when they got there, running here and there around the church since I couldn't come out of the bathroom for fear that James would see me.
I don't have any of my pictures from the photographer back yet so I will have to show you those later.  I can't wait to see them myself!  We had a wonderful celebration and a very moving service.  I finally calmed down after I saw James.  He has that effect on me!  It was so wonderful to see my friends and family all together to celebrate our special day.  After the ceremony and reception, James and I went to Guthrie to stay at our favorite B&B.  It was so nice to get out of town and have my new groom all to myself!
I hope to post again soon with more wonderful pictures of the wedding.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Blessings to You!

Pretty Wedding Things and Exciting News!

Hello Friends!

I have been so busy since I last posted!  I am so sorry it has been so long!  I have been getting things ready for my wedding that is on Saturday and I wanted to show you some of the things I have made for my special day!

I really, really, really wanted to have my wedding outdoors but I had to move the venue and now the new venue doesn't have a way to have sound or music outdoors so we will be having the ceremony inside.  I made these beautiful glass jars covered with different kinds of lace.  Some will have votive candles and others will have floating candles.  I am going to put them up and down the aisle so we can have a romantic candle-lit ceremony.  That will be fun!

I also made this pretty banner and decorated my whole house with white, ivory and silver.  My house looks like a bride-to-be!

These are the bouquets I made for the wedding.  The ivory one is mine and the pink one is for my maid of honor.  I made every petal of every flower by hand.  They are just stunning in person.

I made this darling "wedding cake" out of a round box that I covered with music paper.  Aren't the sweet love birds so cute?

This is a sweet bride and groom statue a friend gave to me for my shower (more about that later).  I love it under my cloche.  It is sitting on my dining room table right now.
This is a purse that came with my wedding dress.  I don't know if I told you this before or not but after I got my dress home I decided to make some alterations and now it looks COMPLETELY different, and it is SOOOO beautiful!  I can't wait to show you how it turned out.  So naturally I had to redo the purse, right?
Isn't it so much better?  I just love it!
Here are some corsages I made for all of the ladies in the wedding.  I had so much fun making these!
This is the corsage I made my mom.  I think it is so beautiful!
This little bitty one is on an ivory hair band and it is for my little flower girl.  It is so sweet!
This is the corsage that I will wear when I change in to my "going away" dress.  It is so feminine and romantic!
I made my Maid of Honor a gift bag and this is the tag I made to go on it.  There is a special message for her on the back.
The bag is filled with a pretty pink towel, a monogrammed bath robe, a jar of bubble bath, some tea bags, and her custom-made bouquet.
My mom and my Maid of Honor hosted a wedding shower for me at my church this past Sunday.  It was such a fun time!  I had so many of my girl friends and family that came and we got so many wonderful, lovely gifts.  My mom made me that sweet crown out of chicken wire and rose trim.  It is so darling!
She set up such a beautiful table of refreshments and I was so happy when I saw how pretty everything was!
She had these beautiful cupcakes made that were so delicious.  Aren't those roses just sweet!?  You can check out more details about the shower here.

I am almost finished with all of the preparations for the wedding.  I can't wait to decorate for the ceremony and reception.  I know it will be just beautiful and I can't wait to share my pictures with you!  I also have some other VERY exciting news to share.  Many of you know that I have been working on writing a business plan to open a candy store and cupcake boutique in my small town.  Well after much research and planning it looks as though the business just isn't going to work out right now.  It is going to cost way too much money to open up.  I could still feel God leading me away from my job though.  I really had to do a lot of praying and soul searching to figure out where God was leading me.  Finally I realized what I was meant to do.  So James and I got busy working on another business plan that is now complete and very well written.  We are now in the process of securing financing to open a bed and breakfast in a BEAUTIFUL house in the historic district of my home town.  I will share more with you about our plans and what God has done for us.  It is such an amazing story and we are actually writing things down as they happen because James is going to write a book about our amazing story.  This has been such an incredible journey and I see God moving and working through it all.  I can't wait to share more with you.  For now I ask that you please PRAY that God will bless us with financing quickly.  We have been working on getting financing for a few months now and it has been an uphill battle.  The homeowner and realtor are getting impatient and we are running out of options.  We so desperately need that financing to start this business so we can begin to touch the lives of each person that walks through our doors.  Please pray that something will come through soon.  Thank you so much for your help and support.

I hope you have a blessed day!
